Medicare Supplement Policies (Medigap) are health insurance policies that offer standardized benefits to work with Original Medicare and are sold by private insurance companies. If you have a Medigap policy, Original Medicare first pays its share for your care, and then Medigap pays all or part of the remaining costs, including deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments. Medigaps may also cover some health care costs that Medicare doesn’t cover at all, like care received when travelling out of the country. Medigaps only work with Original Medicare, if you have a Medicare Advantage Plan you cannot buy a Medigap.
MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLANS (Part C)
Part C is the part of Medicare policy that allows private health insurance companies to provide Medicare benefits. These Medicare private health plans, such as HMOs and PPOs, are known as Medicare Advantage Plans.
Medicare Advantage Plans must offer at least the same benefits as Original Medicare (those covered under Parts A and B) but do so with different rules, costs, and coverage restrictions. You also typically get Part D as part of your Medicare Advantage benefits package. Plans set a limit on what you’ll have to pay out-of-pocket each year for covered services.
Medical costs and other life expenses can pop up suddenly. And often, when you can least afford them. They offer cash benefits to help you pay for many everyday expenses. Plus, a little peace of mind. Our accident plans can be a real help. It provides cash benefits for common services related to a covered injury. Critical illness plans can help you cover everyday expenses if you've been diagnosed with a major illness. Hospital indemnity plans are here to protect you. You get fixed payments for your covered hospital stay. That’s cash for medical and non-medical expenses.
Life insurance can do more than provide income replacement for your dependents — it can be used to help build tax-advantaged family assets, help assure the continuity of your business if you pass away, or even pay for final expenses.
Anyone who has had any major dental work done knows how expensive that can be. A stand-alone dental policy can help by covering some of the cost of basic cleanings and exams, as well as more comprehensive services like root canals and crowns.
These policies typically pay a percentage of charges up to a maximum per year.
